Course Description:

The Basic Plastics Course is designed for a person who is a novice to the gas industry.  This course will give the applicant a thorough knowledge of the DOT regulations that govern the installation of plastic gas pipelines. It will familiarize them with the characteristics of natural gas and the basic safeguards that are needed to work around natural gas. Upon completion of this course the candidate should have the knowledge necessary to join plastic pipe using the Butt Fusion-Manual method and the Electrofusion method and the Mechanical methods for joining pipe 4” in diameter and less.
